The Power of Positive Thinking |
|
Message from Pete Davies, Director Oxford UK Chapter Some years ago the Oxford UK Chapter "adopted" a very sick young boy named Jake Spicer. Jake suffers from a particularly pernicious cancer called Neuroblastoma. He has been fighting this disease for years and at 13 has spent most of his life in and out of the JR hospital in Oxford. Last year he became our youngest Chapter member. Sadly the doctors have recently told Jake that they can do no more for him. A specialist palliative care nurse has suggested that the only thing left is the power of positive thought - and I have never met anyone as positive as this kid. Nevertheless, as positive as Jake is he needs help. To this end we have set up a web site where people can leave messages of support. We at the Oxford Chapter would be extremely grateful if you would ask your members to log on to www.jake-spicer.webs.com and just leave a few words of support and comfort. If you have contacts in overseas Chapters and feel inclined to get them to help too then so much the better. Who knows, if enough of us do it then it might just have some effect. Thank You |
