How the Club Works PDF Print E-mail

We are a very active branch of the UK Harley Davidson Owners Group and always look forward to welcoming new members. We offer plenty of activities to enjoy within the club throughout the year, ranging from a leisurely Sunday morning ride-out to weekends away at some of our fantasic rallies and events.

Invicta Chapter UK  have an elected Committee of around 14 people. These consist of a Director, Assistant Director, Membership Secretary, Treasurer, Editor, Photographer & Webmaster, 3 Member Representatives,  Road Captains and a Ladies Of Harley Representative. The Committee meet around once a month and plan future events and ride-outs etc and in October we hold our AGM where members can have their say on running the club or put themselves forward for a place on the Committee.

THE MEMBER INFORMATION NETWORK

There are several ways in which information is passed on to club members.

Club Newsletter : Each member receives a monthly newsletter either by post or email. This details all forthcoming events as well all the latest gossip and general club news.

Website : Our  website details all the latest club news, ride-out schedule, meeting and event information. The forum and messaging pages pass on last minute changes and other information. Members can also manage their contact details online by logging into the site.

Telephone Hotline : The hotline is a telephone messaging service for all late breaking news and last minute ride-out details. The number is given in the newsletter and members only section of the web site.

Natter Nights : Pub natter nights are held in each area of Kent once a month and a monthly club night is held at our own club house. The area meetings are run by the local members representative - so there's no excuse not to go. These evenings are held so members can get together and talk "Harley" or chat to the rep's with any concerns or ideas they may have.

ROAD CREW

On all our events safety is paramount and to help with this the club has designated Road Captains. The Road captains are responsible for all the ride-outs, the meeting places, the ride-out routes, speed and destination. However they are NOT ultimately responsible for your safety!
On very large ride-outs additional road marshals are used, most of whom, but not all, have been on training courses organised and run by the Police. It is important when attending your first few ride-outs for you identify yourself to the road captain. The Road Captain will then explain the staggered riding and second man systems that we use - Don't worry it's really easy once you have seen it work.
